Received a call from a client that he and his wife are relocating out of the area. They are both on a Medicare supplement, which they will keep with an adjustment in their premium. If that supplement had been a Select Plan, we would have had the opportunity to change their plan without undergoing health history underwriting because of the change of region.
They do have the opportunity to change stand-alone drug plans because of their relocation. However, whatever they have accrued to date regarding the full cost of their purchased prescription drugs, will carry over to the new plan.
Please note that whenever a beneficiary relocates, they need to contact Social Security with their new address prior to the move so that Medicare will allow changes in their coverages due to change in location.
